Facilities

We have a secret walled beer garden to the rear of the property that is family and pet friendly. You will see our rhubarbs growing from early spring through to till late summer, along with fresh herbs in the herb bed and fresh vegetables growing in the borders! You can un-wind and relax whilst enjoying a refreshing and revitalising beverage and forget the stresses of everyday life. Grab a pint and watch the Leicester Tigers or Leicester City live at the Cheney Arms via BT sport!

Pétanque

We also have two pétanque pistes which are great in the summer time to have a game outside with friends whilst enjoying a beer and some food! Gaddesby’s team The Cheney Knights  play in Division A of the Leicestershire 1990 Petanque league. The Cheney Knights have been in the league for over twenty years and were Cup winners in 1997. If you are interested in playing, please contact Team Captain Sam Burdett on 07748 084 529.

Pétanque is a form of boules where the goal is to toss or roll hollow steel balls as close as possible to a small wooden ball called a cochonnet or jack, while standing inside a circle with both feet on the ground. Boules games have a very long history, dating back through the Middle Ages to ancient Rome, and before that to ancient Greece and Egypt. With Petanque forming around 1910.
